Joining EnduraPanel as a shower liner
The following system has been developed as a best practice solution for the joining of EnduraPanel as a shower liner.
Great care must be taken to sealing the perimeter edges and extending the sealer to 50mm from perimeter edge, including all penetrations.

Finishing EnduraPanel Panel In Wet Areas
ACRYLIC SHOWER TRAY
Most acrylic shower trays used in Australia and New Zealand have a perimeter up-stand to accommodate our building practices. This allows for quick installation while maintaining watertight integrity. Install the shower tray as per manufacturer’s instructions. There are several aspects to this system that are critical to a successful installation:
- The shower tray may be installed hard up against the bottom plate with wall lining rebated as above
- It is critical that after the EnduraPanel is installed an air-gap be left between the caulking in steps 3 and 4. This acts as a capillary break to prevent any subsequent moisture ingress
- A bead of flexible caulking should be applied between the bottom of the wall lining and the top of the shower tray and tooled off as illustrated
- A bead of flexible caulking should be applied as low as possible to the vertical face of the shower tray up-stand
- A further bead of flexible caulking should be applied to the area where the underside of EnduraPanel meets the shower tray
- EnduraPanel should be installed over the top of wall lining and shower tray up-stand
- Caulking should be tooled off as shown
SHOWER OVER BATH
Most baths used in Australia and New Zealand have a perimeter up-stand to accommodate our building practices. Install the bath as per manufacturer’s instructions:
- As with acrylic shower tray installation the idea is to seal the junction but allow an air gap as a capillary break
- A bead of flexible caulking should be applied to the area where the underside of EnduraPanel meets the bath
- EnduraPanel should be installed over the top of wall lining and onto the top face of the bath
- Caulking should be tooled off as shown up-stand and tooled off as shown
TILED SHOWER
EnduraPanel should be applied to walls over an approved waterproofing membrane system and down onto a pre-laid tiled floor that has adequate drainage run-off. Always use adhesives and sealers that are compatible with the membrane system used (refer to membrane manufacturer’s recommendations). There is usually no need for a capillary break in a tiled shower application due to all surfaces being previously made waterproof.
- A bead of flexible caulking should be applied to the area where the underside of EnduraPanel meets the Tiled Floor
- EnduraPanel should be installed over the top of wall lining and onto the tiled floor
- Caulking should be tooled off as shown
